Description

City of Woodburn has a vacancy for a skilled Wastewater Collections Operator I to perform work in the maintenance and repair of sewer collection systems and components. Wastewater Collections has trained staff, responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City's Sanitary Sewer Collection, Storm Sewer Collection System, including storm water catch basins, and manholes. Duties include: inspect private or public premises for water leaks and sewage overflows; perform point repairs on sewer mains and laterals; locate and clear sewer pipeline blockages, perform the inspection of the collections system via closed-circuit television equipment; clean sanitary sewer lines using hydro-jet vacuum and CCTV trucks; vacuum materials from pipes and dispose at the wastewater treatment plant; locate and repair sewer manholes; perform utility locates; monitor all projects related to the sanitary sewer system to ensure all infrastructures are installed and tested properly; conduct pre-construction site visits; maintain flow of gravity sewer lines through chemical, mechanical, and/or hydraulicme and conduct erosion and sediment control inspections on wastewater projects.

High School degree or G.E.D. with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in related maintenance and construction of services, mains, installation, alteration and repair of collection systems, or a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the employment standard listed above and that provides the required knowledge andabilities. Applicants with DEQ Operator I license may be considered for an underfill assignment with the condition to obtain level II license within 9 months of employment. 

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet the City of Woodburn's driving standards and a valid Oregon class A driver's license with airbrake and ability to obtain tanker endorsement

Oregon DEQ Collections Operator II certification

Oregon Public Pesticide Applicator's License

Must pass the pre-employment background check

Possess the following training/certifications or ability to obtain and maintain afteremployment: Forklift, flagger, first aid/CPR, SCBA qualified, NASSCO certification, OSHA Competent Person, Excavation and Shoring, NIMS ICS 100, 200 and 700 certification, and confined space.
