We are looking for a practitioner with energy and enthusiasm along with patience and a caring nature together with good knowledge and understanding of EYFS requirements. Imaginative, alert and observant with strong organisational and communication skills. Able to plan, organise and evaluate a holistic range of services to children and their families and work alongside them to encourage them to play with their children and to be reflective about their parenting.

Job Purpose: YMCA East Surrey is looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Early Years Practitioner with energy and motivation to plan, lead and deliver targeted play opportunities and support groups for children 0 up to 12 years and their parents at YMCA Horley Family centre.

Background: The post holder will deliver targeted and universal family focused support sessions on both a 1:1 and group basis. Facilitating high quality play activities for children aged 0 – 11 years and their parents/carers within a safe stimulating environment. Building links and working in partnership with parents, carers, and other partners, supporting them to engage and join in with the activities with their children, to enhance the child’s wellbeing and overall development. All services provided will support the delivery of the Family Centre specification and core offer, which aims to enable children to achieve and improve outcomes.

Type of Contract: Fixed term until 31^st March 2025

Hours of work: 18 hours per week – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9am – 3pm, with flexibility to work additional days and for occasional out of hours work according to families needs.

Location : YMCA Horley Young People & Family Centre, The Old Fire Station, Albert Road, Horley Surrey RH6 7JA with flexibility to work across areas of Reigate and Banstead.

Salary / pay rate: £13.91 per hour

Annual leave: Five weeks (pro-rata) plus bank holidays. Holidays increase after two years’ service to a maximum of six weeks pro-rata after six years’ service. The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March each year.
