Description
We are seeking a Water Utility Worker I to join our team. As a Water Utility Worker I, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and operating our water distribution systems. Your responsibilities will include performing routine maintenance tasks, conducting inspections, and ensuring the efficient delivery of clean water to our community.
As a member of a crew, or individually, work in the maintenance and construction of utility facilities such as install, maintain and repair a variety of systems, potable water service, treatment facilities; complete proper paperwork. Track and document materials usage; maintain records; clean and maintain equipment and work storage areas; wash and maintain overall cleanliness of section tools, equipment and vehicles; assist in notifying citizens of scheduled projects; answer questions from public regarding projects; operate power & hand tools and small equipment in the course of work such as compressors, generators, jackhammers, pressure cleaners, chippers, hydraulic pumps and jacks, portable pumps, riding mowers, edger, trencher, etc., utilized in connection with work assignments. May utilize a variety of modern office equipment such as personal computers on occasion to retrieve or input information.

High school degree or G.E.D. and 6 months of experience in construction, maintenance, or repair, or a combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent that provides the required knowledge and abilities. Candidate must pass the pre-employment background check; have a valid Oregon class C driver's license and ability to meet the City of Woodburn's driving standards and either possess the following training/certifications or ability to obtain and maintain after employment: Forklift, flagger, and first aid/CPR.
