The Event Staging Video Engineer is a mid-level technical position, requiring independent decision, motivation, and event lead capabilities. In this position, the technician has gained a vast amount of varied field and exhibits some leadership experience in the Audio Visual industry.  This person may function in their experienced field as a dedicated technician/engineer while concurrently functioning as onsite event management contributing to the overall scope of the event with client interaction and input.  This person will exhibit technical expertise and insure that the event adheres to the stringent quality IMS sets forth event-wide.  This person will be intrinsically motivated toward personal excellence within their particular expertise and will insure event quality in their assigned area(s).  This person, in some cases, will be appointed technical support within the scope of an event, and be responsible to coordinate their efforts and ensure appropriate behaviors. They may also be responsible for show flow in their particular location or event-wide and must solicit input from clients to drive needs/desires to other crew members in a concise technical fashion to insure excellence.  This position may require a decision, delegation, and decision-making that will affect client experience and show quality.  

Position Accountabilities and Expectations:

·         Work on the Jobsite as V1, V2, Video Utility, and/or Lead Tech.

·         Demonstrate strong leadership skills by communicating concisely via email, phone, or in person.

·         Supervise and delegate onsite video/staging projects and other event-related tasks to the crew in a timely and professional manner by event scope and timeline. May function as a V1, V2, Video Utility, and/or Lead Technician.

·         Recommend equipment for purchasing

·         Maintain and update Outlook with tasks, appointments, meetings, and other event-related activities

·         Must be able to work nights and weekends as necessary

·         An independent worker that effectively leads others is a fast-paced environment

·         Excellent driving record

·         Ability to be a trainer and understand different manufacturers’ products

·         Significant knowledge of all AV discipline

·         Other duties required by the Company in support of business objectives

 

What you will bring:

·         Mastery of video set-up and operation, large-scale projection, and camera operation

·         Barco Event Master Certified

·         Bachelor’s degree preferred in Communications, Marketing, and/or equivalent work experience.

·         2-5 years of experience in Live Event Video Systems and Signal Workflow. Must maintain a working knowledge of most video set-ups and operations, including but not limited to Small venue projection and screens, small format Barco Processors, AJA KiPRO/Pix Digital Recorders, Video Switchersm Playback Pro/Qlab Playback Software, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Keynote

·         Knowledge of our industry, live events, technology products, and services, as well as those of our competitors and clients to make sound decisions.

·         Demonstrated planning and organizational skills to effectively manage numerous events and resources simultaneously.

·         Must be strategic, curious, thoughtful, articulate, and adaptable, and have strong communication, listening, and problem-solving skills.

·         Client-facing experience is critical, must be comfortable and polished presenting information to groups; as well as effectively responding to feedback from clients and project team.

·         A demonstrated and consistently positive attitude in high-pressure situations while driving successful results by client’s vision

·         Ability to apply best practices and learnings from previous events to elevate the performance level of self and team.

·         Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills

·         An ability to work nights and weekends as necessary and travel via car, plane, and/or train, as required by IMS

·         Must be able to lift 50lbs.
