Office Administrator
Atlas Coating Ltd, part of The HEX Group, is a privately-owned business who offer quality professional powder coating and paint finishing to a variety of customers from a range of sectors. We utilise the latest powder coating technology and practices to ensure that our quality is second to none.
Operating from a purpose built site located in Hixon, Staffordshire along with sister companies Bri-Stor Systems and Alpha Manufacturing, we are ideally positioned to meet the needs of our customers across the UK.
Having experienced significant growth and success over the last few years, we are looking to strengthen our team with the recruitment of an Office Administrator. We are seeking a dependable and organized Office Administrator to support daily administrative and operational functions in our powder coating facility. This role is vital in keeping our production office running smoothly, from handling administrative tasks and coordinating with clients to supporting the shop floor with scheduling and documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist visitors, customers, and delivery personnel
- Answer phones, respond to emails, and direct inquiries to the appropriate departments
- Process customer orders, generate work orders, and assist with scheduling production jobs
- Maintain accurate records of jobs, materials, invoices, and shipping documentation
- Assist with inventory tracking of coatings, tools, and office supplies
- Handle basic bookkeeping tasks such as invoicing, billing, and payments using Sage
- Coordinate pick-ups and deliveries with logistics partners and customers
- Support compliance with safety procedures and documentation requirements
- Liaise between the office and shop floor to ensure smooth communication and job tracking
- Help prepare reports and data for management review
The Candidate
- Proven experience as an office administrator, office assistant, or similar role (manufacturing or industrial experience preferred)
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with inventory or job tracking systems is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment
Desirable:
- Experience working in a manufacturing, metal fabrication, or coatings environment
- Familiarity with powder coating terminology and processes
- Comfortable interfacing with both customers and production staff
- Basic knowledge of health and safety practices in an industrial setting
Package
The successful candidate will be entitled to:
· £12.21 per hour
· Monday – Friday mornings 20 hrs p/wk
