This is a full-time, on-site position, working 40 per week on a fixed shift pattern basis. Shifts are typically scheduled from Monday to Friday between 9am-5.30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break included for shifts over six hours. Why Join Us?

We’re growing fast, but we’re not about just filling rooms – we’re about creating homes. Our team is passionate, open and driven by our values: Happy, Open, Secure and Trusted. We genuinely care about our people and our students and we want a Caretaker who shares our enthusiasm for building exceptional experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing.
As a Caretaker, you’ll play a key role in creating a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming home for our students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a safe environment – ensuring all health & safety checks, fire alarm tests and security measures are completed.
  • Carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance – from fixing minor plumbing and electrical issues to redecorating and refreshing communal areas.
  • Supporting the wider team – working closely with housekeeping, management and contractors to keep everything running smoothly.

Who We’re Looking For.
We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on team player who takes pride in keeping things running efficiently. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Experience in maintenance, caretaking or facilities management.
  • A friendly, student-focused approach with great problem-solving skills.
  • Practical knowledge of general maintenance tasks (plumbing, electrics, painting, repairs).
  • A strong understanding of health & safety and compliance.
  • A can-do attitude and the ability to handle a varied workload.

What’s in It for You?

At Host, we know that happy teams create the best student experiences. Here’s what you’ll get in return:

  • Career growth – we invest in training and development to help you reach your potential.
  • A great work culture – friendly, supportive and built on trust.
  • A role with purpose – making a real difference in students’ lives.
  • Competitive salary & benefits – because great work deserves great rewards.

Benefits include:

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part time staff)
  • Extra day off on your Birthday
  • Extra day off annually for volunteering
  • Life insurance
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
  • Plus, all the standard stuff like a pension & cycle to work scheme
