Description
At Host, we don’t just provide student accommodation – we create thriving communities where students can feel happy, safe and supported throughout their university journey. Our mission? To be the best - and that starts with hiring brilliant people like you!
We are on the lookout for a brand new Training Manager to join our Central Operations Team. This is a hybrid role with flexibility for home working and regular travel as required.
This is a full time position of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 09:00am and 17:30pm. The role offers a competitive salary plus car allowance, reflective of experience and responsibilities.
Why Join Us?
We’re growing fast, but we’re not just about filling rooms and buildings – we’re about people. Our team is passionate, open, and driven by our values: Happy, Open, Secure and Trusted. We believe in creating exceptional communities where students can thrive – and that starts with well-trained, confident teams. That’s where you come in.
As Training Manager, you’ll be helping shape the future of our teams across the UK – making sure they have the tools, knowledge and confidence to deliver an outstanding resident experience and meet the compliance standards our clients expect, every time.
What You’ll Be Doing
As our Training Manager, you’ll take the lead on designing and delivering training that brings our values to life and drives service excellence across Host. From new starter inductions to leadership development, your work will have a direct impact on how our teams show up for our residents – and for each other.
You’ll work closely with colleagues across departments, including property teams, central support and our leadership team, to build capability, embed standards and champion a culture of continuous improvement. You’ll also support key operational projects, including new site mobilisations and change initiatives. Your role will include:
· Designing and delivering engaging training programmes that support operational excellence.
· Leading our company-wide induction process, helping new starters hit the ground running.
· Overseeing core compliance training (e.g. ANUK, H&S, GDPR, Mental Health Awareness).
· Supporting leadership development through workshops, coaching, and structured pathways.
· Contributing to key mobilisation and change projects – ensuring our teams are trained and ready.
· Carrying out audits and using insights to shape future training needs.
· Championing a learning culture across the business, encouraging curiosity and confidence.
· Tracking training delivery and outcomes to drive improvement and share success stories.
Who We’re Looking For
We need someone who’s proactive, people-focused, and passionate about great service. Ideally, you’ll bring:
· Experience designing and delivering training, ideally in PBSA, hospitality, or customer-focused sectors.
· Confidence delivering both in-person and virtual sessions to varied audiences.
· A strong understanding of adult learning principles and different training styles.
· Knowledge of compliance training requirements and how to deliver them effectively.
· A coaching mindset – able to support and empower managers and teams.
· Great communication and organisation skills.
· A collaborative approach and a love of learning.
· Willingness to travel to sites and events across the UK.
What’s in It for You?
At Host, we know that happy teams create the best student experiences. Here’s what you’ll get in return:
· Career growth – we invest in training and development to help you reach your potential.
· A great work culture – friendly, supportive and built on trust.
· A role with purpose – making a real difference in students’ lives.
· Competitive salary & benefits – because great work deserves great rewards.
Benefits include:
· 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part time staff)
· Extra day off on your Birthday
· Extra day off annually for volunteering
· Life insurance
· Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
· Plus, all the standard stuff like a pension & cycle to work scheme
