Description

The Field Controls Technician will be working as part of a fast growing, dynamic team and will play a critical role representing Hanley Energy in our business model. This person will integrate automated client systems to reduce energy costs, ensure 100% up-time, monitor key components, and maintain competitiveness.

The Field Controls Technician will support new construction projects at customer sites and is a responder for hands-on equipment new installation and troubleshooting up to full operation. Our committed team works as a technical resource to support the full physical infrastructure of their customer’s buildings that store mission-critical data and equipment.

 

Field Control Technician Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end system installation, encompassing checkout, integration, testing, and commissioning.
  • Conduct training sessions on Ignition for knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Utilize ProCore for efficient project management and task tracking.
  • Perform flashing activities on IPCs, HMIs, PLCs, and other components.
  • Engage in Tridium Training, specifically Niagara N4, to enhance system integration skills.
  • Actively seek opportunities to expand and develop expertise in system integration.
  • Provide constructive feedback to the Engineering team on technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Demonstrate effective time management, teamwork, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Contribute to team development by training and mentoring fellow team members.

 

Experience & Qualifications

 

  • A minimum of 2 years of practical experience in a technical field.
  • Technical training obtained from one of the following sources:
    • Military training
    • Trade school
    • University
    • College
  • Prior experience working with Data Centers.
  • Proficiency in PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming.
  • Experience in HMI (Human-Machine Interface) development.
  • Knowledge of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system creation.
  • Familiarity with Networking concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in technical environments.
  • Ability to interpret and work with electrical drawings.
