Description
Are you a tech-savvy problem solver, ready to make a difference in local government? City of Woodburn is looking for an IT Software Analyst to support diverse city department-specific technologies, participating in and sometimes leading various software and hardware implementation projects and performing data mining, research, testing, analysis, and reporting to support a wide range of business and technical requirements.T his position is also responsible for basic systems administration, advanced help desk coverage as needed, and administration of City websites. Working under the general supervision of Assistant IT Manager, this position acts as the first point of contact for inquiries and requests for assistance from users of city-owned software by responding to inquiries, fulfilling help requests, and coordinating with other computer support areas to resolve problems when necessary; ensure that software is used to its fullest potential by assisting with implementing new or unused features, understanding the function and business processes of the end-user's department, using technical and functional knowledge of the software to provide advice; prepare and present short courses on software topics with a widespread and standard base of use; create quality training resource materials, such as user guides, documentation, handouts, and web resources, to support training offerings; and perform security and patch management for desktops.
Associate's degree in information technology, and at least 3 (three) years’ experience using software packages such as word processing, spreadsheets, reporting software, database packages, email, or presentation software, and at least one (1) year experience in designing, developing, and presenting short courses and training documents on computer-related topics. A four-year degree in computer science or related field, and experience troubleshooting in a Windows & TCP/IP network environment preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Valid Oregon class C driver's license and the ability to meet the City of Woodburn’s driving standards
- Must pass the pre-employment background check
- Must pass criminal background check necessary to obtain Criminal Justice Information System clearance and Law Enforcement Data System certification within 30 days of hire. Clearance must be maintained throughout employment
The City is currently in negotiations with AFSCME. Any wage changes for the new fiscal year is unknown at this time.
