Description
City of Woodburn is seeking a skilled and dedicated Utility Worker II to join our Water Division in the Public Works Department. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that plays a crucial role in maintaining and constructing our city's potable water distribution system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform skilled maintenance and construction work on the city's potable water distribution system
- Operate a wide range of equipment including dump trucks, truck/trailer combinations, bobcats, loaders, forklifts, street sweepers, high velocity cleaners, hydro cleaners, flusher trucks, pavement breakers, asphalt spreaders, crack sealers, backhoes, rollers, and crane trucks
- Use power and hand tools such as compressors, generators, jackhammers, pressure cleaners, chippers, hydraulic pumps and jacks, and portable pumps
- Repair and calibrate specialized equipment like flow monitoring gages, rain gages, and water meters
Qualifications:
- High school degree or G.E.D.
- Minimum two years of experience in public works maintenance, construction or repair in water distribution
- Oregon Water Distribution I certification
- Valid Oregon Class A driver's license with air brake and tanker endorsement
- Oregon Public Pesticide Applicator's license with invertebrates' add-on (or ability to obtain after employment)
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test
- Ability to obtain and maintain certifications in Forklift operation, flagger duties, first aid/CPR, NIMS ICS 100, 200 and 700, excavation safety, and confined space
Oregon backflow tester license preferred, City will pay for obtaining of license.
