Description
The Role:
The Senior Production Manager is responsible for ensuring that Deli Lites Production department operate within relevant budgets and produce products on time, in full and to specification whilst maintaining standards in H&S and GMP.
The Senior Production Manager works closely with other departments including Technical, NPD, Logistics, Procurement and Sales Orders to provide a holistic service to our internal and external customers.
Member of the Operations Team, reporting into the Manufacturing Manager, based at Warrenpoint, Newry, Northern Ireland.

Duties:
- Putting Staff Welfare and Food Safety first in all decisions.
- Full Responsibility for the ‘On-Time-In-Full’ production of all customer orders for Frozen and Chilled products, and all items manufactured in our R&D Hub.
- Full Responsibility for the ‘On-Time-In-Full’ order picking of Traded Goods.
- Full Responsibility for personnel management within the Production teams so that all rotas and shifts are adequately filled with trained, on-boarded staff members with clear job descriptions and roles.
- Full Responsibility for the correct use and portion control of Ingredients and packaging whilst making products to the agreed specifications.
- Assisting and participating in managing stock control and variance including yield management and waste.
- Full Responsibility to ensure that Production labour costs and line efficiencies match assumed cost standards.
- Implement and maintain key performance indicators for the direct reports within the Production department that contribute to the overall business KPIs.
- Ensure that all factory rules and regulations linked to H&S, BRCGS, Food Safety and staff welfare are upheld by members of the Production team.
- Work with the NPD team for factory trials and on boarding of new products, ensuring that all proposed products are screened for suitability and assumed product cost standards for Production department before launch.
- Work closely with the Engineering and Maintenance function so that the equipment and site is well maintained with contingency plans for all key machines in production areas.
- Assist on introduction of process automation to increase capacity and reduce labour costs.
- Ensure effective communication between the Production team and other departments.
- Drive Lean Manufacture, standardisation, and continuous improvement across the Production team.
- Contribute to the culture team and help to create an environment where we retain our teams and nurture them to be the best versions of themselves at work.
- Support projects to meet site Sustainability Targets.
- Ensure all product specifications are continually reviewed and in line with customer requirements, agreed brand standards, operational capabilities and agreed cost standards.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Demonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a food Production environment.
- Experience in effective Production management.
- Effective and proven project management skills.
- Strong people and time management skills
KPIs – Targets to be reviewed Annually.
- Labour costs per unit for Fresh and Frozen products
- Unit Per Hour targets for Fresh and Frozen products
- On-Time-In-Full Service Delivery level
