Description

The City of Woodburn is seeking a skilled IT Systems Administrator to join our team. This role is crucial in coordinating and participating in the administration of the City's IT, network, and phone systems. The IT Systems Administrator coordinates and participates in the administration, maintenance, and security of the City’s IT infrastructure, including network systems, servers, and telecommunications platforms. This position plays a key role in ensuring reliable technology operations that support City departments and services.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support and maintain critical departmental computer systems, programs, and applications
• Implement complex software applications and manage system administration activities
• Manage user accounts, system security, and respond to security or usability concerns
• Administer infrastructure including firewalls, databases, and malware protection
• Maintain multiple domain controllers, servers, network hardware, and PCs across City facilities
• Configure and troubleshoot voice mail and phone issues
• Develop documentation and maintain software licenses and inventory

Qualifications:
• AA degree in Information Technology or equivalent
• Minimum three (3) years of experience providing technical support and system administration for personal computers and networks
• Valid Oregon Class C driver's license
• Ability to obtain Criminal Justice Information System clearance and Law Enforcement Data System certification

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, computer science or related field

• MCP or MCSE certification

• Additional industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or CCNA

• Experience in public sector or multi-site IT environments

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Active Directory, including group policy, user account management, permissions, scripts, and account policies; working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and server environments; ability to learn, configure, and support a variety of software applications; experience configuring and maintaining servers, PCs, printers, scanners, patch panels, handheld devices, phones, and other network hardware; ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot network and application software; strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, vendors, and end users; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
