The Role:

As a Key Account Manager within the commercial team, you will contribute to the development and execution of a robust sales plan designed to support the company’s overall growth strategy.

You will be responsible for achieving sales, margin and category growth targets through optimisation of current listings and new product development.

You will build & maintain collaborative partnerships.

You will make a significant contribution to the day-to-day operational activities to meet customer requirements and continually improve customer value and commitment to DELI LITES.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute customer account plans to drive the overall company strategic growth plan.
  • Develop and negotiate annual Joint Business Plans (JBP) and Long-Term Agreements (LTA) with key customers.
  • Provide solutions based on customer needs, and in line with the internal objectives of the business.
  • Be able to build and maintain effective business relationships at all levels.
  • Contribute to the forecast planning of the short, medium and long term in line with the growth plan.
  • Report on the sales, profitability and account initiatives to grow sales in your accounts on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Manage the costs associated with doing business with each key account.
  • Manage limited edition cycles effectively and in a timely manner with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Gather, analyse and provide insight on the category through consultation with customers and key trade contacts.
  • Be able to provide product guidance, negotiate pricing and delivery requirements with customers, remaining aware of the impact of these decisions.
  • Assist with the identification of tender opportunities and the preparation of tender responses as required.
  • Liaise with current customers on a regular basis to ensure they remain satisfied with the company’s products and service.
  • Contribute to new product development, customer care and the company’s approach to quality through the presentation of customer feedback.
  • Update and maintain the CRM database with information on existing and potential customers.
  • Liaise effectively with internal teams relative to orders received, production scheduling, new product development, quality control, order delivery and the arranging of customer factory visits.
  • As required be present as an exhibitor at relevant shows and exhibitions, ensuring high visibility, supplies of samples and promotional materials and adequate staffing at exhibition stands.
  • Any other duties, within reason and capability, as determined by your line manager.                                                   

Required Skills and Competencies

  • 3rd Level qualification in a Business-Related Discipline
  • 2-5 years proven experience as a key account manager within FMCG.
  • Experience in sales and providing solutions based on customer needs.
  • Customer focused and can build trusting relationships.
  • Highly energetic, enthusiastic with a positive ‘can do’ approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organisational levels.
  • Ability in problem solving & negotiation.
  • Excellent planning & organisational skills.
  • Sound commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Experience in preparation of customer proposals.
  • Previous experience of Chilled Foods
