Job Purpose
The Product Safety and Reliability Engineer will perform a key Product Engineering Support role across multiple projects, usually during product development but also maintaining records and customer artefacts through life as required. Reporting to the Supportability Engineering Lead, with supervision from the Senior ILS Engineer and Senior Safety Engineer, this role will cover both Drumgrange sites and ensure that Product Safety and Reliability data is accurately collated and analysed.

What you’ll do
Routine:
· Undertake Product Safety Test and Analysis – ensuring Drumgrange products meet the applicable Safety and Environmental requirements.
· Generate Materials and Components Lists – derived from individual Items Lists, feeding a central repository.
· Manage Datasheet Libraries – including Technical Data, Safety Data and RoHS compliance evidence.
· Undertake Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) – including administration and reporting.
· Perform Reliability predictions at component and system level – including collating MTBF data from the OEM, Suppliers and MIL-HDBK-217.
· Maintain Data Reporting and Corrective Action System (DRACAS) – including inputting data into DRACAS and reporting to monthly project / ILS Working Groups.
Exceptional:
· Provide additional assistance to the ILS Team i.e. Maintainability Task Analysis, Obsolescence Risk Register management.
What you’ll need
· Previous experience of working in the Defence or related sector, either serving military, MoD or contracting.
· Familiar with relevant Safety Defence Standards (e.g. 00-55, 00-56), and Reliability Defence Standards (e.g. 00-42, 00-44).
· Engineering HND.
· Eng Tech Professional Registration (or working towards).
· Human Factors experience.
· Experience in product Reliability or Safety data collection and analysis.
· Commitment to quality, performance and cost, delivering on-time to the highest standard.
· The ability to work autonomously when required, whilst maintaining a highly effective output with professional integrity.
· The ability to adapt and be agile to specific project requirements and demand change at short notice.
· Highly competent computer skills including MS Office suite.
· Excellent literacy and communication skills.
· Holding or the ability to attain SC UK security clearance.
Progression Route
Due to the increase in ILS deliverables both on contract and expected under future contracts, there a requirement for additional resource to bridge resource heavy Supportability activities. This role could see progression to a Senior Engineer role managing discrete ILS elements in the future.
