Manufacturing Engineer Degree Apprentice
The Company
Bri-Stor Systems Ltd, part of The HEX Group, are the UK’s largest converter of lightweight commercial vehicles. We are a privately-owned business employing over 250 people and have been operating for over 40 years.
We are looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer Degree Apprentice to oversee the design and implementation of our company processes. You will work towards being responsible for developing and implementing process strategies, optimising current processes, and maintaining process documents. Ultimately, your job is to maintain the efficiency of production in order to reduce costs and accidents.
The successful candidate will be enrolled onto a Level 6 Manufacturing Engineer Degree Apprenticeship.
The Role
Key accountabilities
You will work towards having resposibility for the following;
- Generate Standard Operating Procedures for specific builds or activities where a standard SOP is required.
- Work with engineering and production to produce and improve systems to streamline production and increase right first time.
- Drafting process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates.
- Ensuring processes comply with safety and quality standards.
- Developing routines and best practices to ensure product quality.
- Ensure SOP changes are rolled out to the shopfloor with process documents and standard operating procedures updated.
- Focus on reducing waste and improving the manufacturing processes.
- Looking at improving the process, identifying any line inefficiency’s that could aid the throughput of a production line (Working alongside the relative GL/TL of Contract).
- Introducing stage by stage sign-off to improve the quality of vehicle being passed through from stage to stage and ultimately a better quality of product presented to the customer.
- Identify any tooling that may be better suited for a specific stage/task.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above
- A-Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualification in STEM based subjects - e.g. Physics, IT, Computing, Engineering or Electronics
- Excellent communication skills
- A passion for engineering
- A desire to work in an engineering role
Package
The successful candidate will be entitled to:
- £21,000 Per Annum
